Close to the medieval city of Carcassonne, in a beautiful and natural environment, the Lac de Cavayère, as it is officially known, spans 40 hectares and is home to some delightful Mediterranean flora and fauna.
The lake has everything you need for a fab family day out, and is a pleasant way to spend the day relaxing whilst letting the kids work off some steam. Or join in, it’s great for adults too: with an excellent inflatable aquapark, O2 airborne adventure, pedalo hire, amusement park and surfing, there is no shortage of fun to be had!
It’s not just for families either – couples and individuals will enjoy spending time there as well, with numerous beaches, picnic spots and plenty of opportunity for walking and relaxation. We recommend a visit during the Summer months, but be warned: it can get very busy on weekends and public holidays!
