Soak up the atmosphere with a morning meander through Les Halles

Whether you’re visiting the South of France on holiday or you’re a regular Audois, experiencing the local markets is always a treat. Buzzing with life, colour, sounds and aromas, the markets of Occitania are where you will find some of the best local produce in the South of France. And there’s one in particular we can recommend: Les Halles Narbonne.

Situated in Narbonne town centre, alongside the canal, is an exceptional market in a Baltard style pavillion which recently celebrated its centennial year. “Les Halles” of Narbonne are famous across the region, and the market consists of more than 70 stalls, fielding bakers, pastry makers, butchers, caterers, fishmongers, greengrocers, poultry merchants, delicatessens, bars and wine merchants.  Visiting Narbonne market provides you with a burst of life, and the food here is excellent, especially the cheese and pâte.

Each and every morning, 365 days a year (yes that includes Sundays!), the market welcomes hungry visitors, cooks and gourmets. Local producers are all at your disposal, offering fresh wares and advice on how to prepare their products. The market runs from 7am to 1pm daily and gets a big thumbs up from us! Plus, since Narbonne is on the coast, a visit to Les Halles makes for  a great excuse to head to the seaside afterwards!
