  • Located in the heart of the Minervois appellation, between Carcassonne and Narbonne
  • Diverse soils, including clay, limestone, and alluvial deposits
  • Mediterranean climate with Atlantic influences, providing optimal growing conditions

A Wine Lover’s Paradise

The Minervois is, first and foremost, a wine lover’s dream. Recognized as an AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée) in 1985, the region has quickly established itself as one of occitanie’s premier wine-producing areas. The combination of Mediterranean climate, varied soils, and traditional grape varieties results in wines of exceptional character and complexity.

  • Red Wines: Minervois is particularly renowned for its powerful yet elegant red wines. Blends typically feature Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre, often complemented by the local Carignan grape. These wines boast rich flavours of dark fruits, herbs, and spices, with a structure that allows them to age gracefully.
  • Rosé wines: Also often blending Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah, our rose wines are becoming increasingly popular, especially during the long summer months
  • White Wines: While less common, Minervois white wines are gaining recognition for their quality and value. Made from varieties like Bourboulenc, Marsanne, and Roussanne, these wines offer a refreshing mix of stone fruit and floral notes, perfect for warm summer evenings3.
  • Minervois La Livinière: For those seeking the something special, look no further than the Minervois La Livinière appellation. Established in 1999, it represents a pinnacle of Minervois winemaking, producing some of the most profound and age-worthy wines in the region.

Laure-Minervois Traditions and Innovations

Our wines are renowned for their exceptional quality and distinctive characteristics, reflecting the unique terroir of our region. They are typically full-bodied and well-structured, with a perfect balance of fruit-forward flavours and complex tannins. The reds are often deep ruby or garnet in colour, offering intense aromas of black fruits like blackcurrant and cherry, complemented by notes of spice, liquorice and garrigue herbs.  The whites, though less common, display refreshing stone fruit and floral notes, while the rosés are known for their light and delicate fruit flavours. Laure-Minervois winemakers emphasize organic and sustainable viticulture practices, resulting in wines that truly express the region’s Mediterranean climate and diverse soils. These wines are characterised by their ability to age gracefully, developing more complex flavours and silky tannins over time.

Local producers generally combine time-honoured traditions with modern techniques:

  • Many family-run wineries with generations of expertise
  • Emphasis on organic and sustainable viticulture practices
  • Use of both traditional and innovative winemaking methods
  • Limited yields for higher quality
  • Careful oak aging for some wines
