The Tour de France is heading to Occitania, and as cycling fans we’re very excited to see it coming through, not least because this time it’s on our very doorstep!

Departing from the famous Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy on July 2, 2016, the 103rd Tour de France heads quickly to the mountains, dipping into Spain and Andorra during the Pyrenean stages before also visiting the Swiss Alps later on.  Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in western Europe, takes a starring role in the 2016 edition, and the iconic Mont Ventoux will also feature once again.

Half a Dozen Easterrific Escapades

Easter is a great time for an escapade around Cathar Country, with cooler weather for outdoor activities and the new growth and rejuvenation of Spring to enjoy. It is a colourful season, and every day we discover more natural beauty right on our doorstep: pink almond blossom that lights up the hillside; bursts of yellow from the wildflower overlooking the vineyards; explosions of red and purple from poppy and iris; and all set bright against the green rolling hills and woodland of surrounding Laure. In April, the region is also free from the crowds that clog up the more touristy spots of the Languedoc, making it a perfect excuse for a trip to the mediaeval Cité de Carcassonne or Albi.
